If you’ve ever driven across America, you’re probably familiar with these scenes.  These photographs allow the viewer to interact with these memorials at a slower pace than the memorials’ locations typically permit.  Some of these memorials are more temporary, taken down after just a month, while others remain along the highway for years.  They represent a culture of display that provides little specific context to the viewer, yet connect them to a personal and universal process of mourning.
